Diocletian Palace, Split Entrance Fee

The main area of Diocletian’s Palace in Split is free to enter at all times, as it forms the vibrant heart of the city and is integrated into its streets and squares. There is no admission fee or ticket required to walk through the general palace grounds, which are open year-round at all hours[1][3][7].

Certain historic sites and buildings within the palace complex, however, do charge an entrance fee. These include:

  • The Cathedral of Saint Domnius and its Belltower: Ticket required for entry.
  • The Temple of Jupiter: Ticket required for entry.
  • Portions of the Palace Cellars (substructures): These are ticketed areas which hold historical exhibitions and events. Entry costs €8 for adults and €6 for children aged 7–14, seniors (65+), and students with ID. Children aged 6 and under enter for free. Tickets can be purchased on site or online from the Museum of the City of Split[1][6].

You are free to walk around most of the palace grounds without a ticket, but should expect to pay for admission to the key historical interiors, including the cellars, cathedral, and bell tower[1][3][5][7].
